Autism & ADOS Evaluations

The ADOS 2 (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, 2nd Edition) and ADI-R (Autism Diagnostic Interview, Revised) are Autism-related standardized assessments developed from clinical research and practice. ICPS providers are trained to administer and interpret these assessments for adults, teens, and children (ages 4+) to understand if the criteria for Autism Spectrum Disorder are met.

We recommend the ADOS 2, ADI-R, and possibly other standardized tests to evaluate for Autism Spectrum Disorder (including diagnoses that used to be referred to as Asperger’s Syndrome, Pervasive Developmental Disorder, and “high-functioning” Autism). Because we strive for comprehensive testing, we may recommend cognitive, academic, cognitive processing, adaptive, behavioral, and/or other psychological assessments.

Based on the evaluation goals and results, we may provide formal diagnoses, treatment suggestions and options, and career or school accommodations.

A Ph.D.-level Licensed Clinical Psychologist will conduct the evaluation with you or your child to include:

  • Complete clinical interview with parents or guardians and/or client
  • Thorough review of clinical records
  • Thorough review of academic records
  • Administration of the ADOS 2 and ADI-R concomitantly with other standardized assessments deemed appropriate
  • Scientifically-driven interpretation of all assessment and record data
  • Concise and comprehensive written report by the same psychologist with results/recommendations connected to evaluation goals
  • One-on-one feedback session with parents or guardians and client to review the findings and answer any questions
  • Specific therapy or coaching treatment options, including some options offered in our office
  • Additional support documents, such as letters of authorization or referrals for ABA Therapy, if clinically recommended.
